2026 camps announced

What We’re About, What You’ll Get, and Why This Summer Matters

Welcome to the official blog of Youth Runner Camps — where young athletes come together to train, learn, grow, and build confidence in a supportive, energetic atmosphere. This blog will be your go-to source for camp updates, training insights, athlete stories, and tips to help you get the most from your running journey in 2026 and beyond.

At Youth Runner Camps, we believe running is more than just workouts and races. It’s about community, discovery, resilience, new skills, and friendships that last long after camp ends. Our goal is to give young runners the tools and confidence they need to thrive going into the upcoming cross country season.

What Youth Runner Camp Is

Youth Runner Camps are week-long summer experiences built specifically for young runners — with ages and ability levels in mind — where every athlete can improve, learn, and belong.

We offer two distinct experiences in 2026:

🏃‍♂️ Fort Casey Running Camp – July 27–31
A high school level camp on Whidbey Island, Washington, with trail runs, team culture, expert coaching, fun team activities, and beautiful scenery.

🏃‍♀️ Elite Middle School Camp – August 3–7
Located at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon, this camp is designed specifically for middle school runners (ages 11-14) who want to grow their skills, learn race tactics, and prepare for the season ahead.

What Makes This Camp Different

Most youth runners train with their school team, but Youth Runner Camps take that experience to the next level by combining training with learning and personal growth:

  • Hands-on skill development including pacing, race strategy, dynamic drills, and injury prevention.

  • A focus on running fundamentals that most young athletes never get in a typical school setting.

  • Coaching from experienced athletes, former collegiate runners, and industry experts — including special guest speakers and sessions.

  • A supportive, team-oriented environment that encourages confidence, effort, and friendship.

Too often, young runners don’t get the one-on-one time they need to ask questions and learn why workouts matter. At Youth Runner Camps, we make sure every athlete gets instruction, guidance, and support — regardless of where they start.

What Campers Can Expect

When you join us for a week, you’ll experience a mix of training, learning, and fun:

✔ Morning trail runs and technique sessions
✔ Workshops on race strategy, nutrition, and mental toughness
✔ Guest coach visits and expert talks
✔ Social activities like games, campfires, and new friendships
✔ Meals, lodging, and supervision included all week

Campers leave with new running skills, stronger confidence, lasting friendships, and excitement for the season ahead.
