About Us

Youth Runner Camp began as a small day camp created by Youth Runner Magazine to support middle school runners in our local community. It went well and the campers asked for something bigger.

The following year, the camp expanded into a one-week overnight experience at Lewis & Clark College, and eventually found its long-term home near Mt. Hood. Over the years, we’ve also hosted camps at Lake Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) and McKenzie River Camp, while creating unforgettable experiences at our Eugene camps during the Olympic Trials, Prefontaine Classic, and World Championships—where campers had the opportunity to step inside the stadium and witness elite racing firsthand.

Many Youth Runner Camp athletes have gone on to become state champions, collegiate competitors, international qualifiers, and good students and citizens—a testament to the competitive environment and high-level coaching that define our program.
